LifeforceTV gets In the Rough

Profiling the world of pro golf, a new web series is targeting those who dream of PGA glory. Sponsorship and online ad opps are available.

LifeforceTV is expanding its palette of original Canadian web series with a new drama called In the Rough.

Based around one man’s undying passion to make it in the world of pro golf, In the Rough will span 10 episodes at eight minutes each and will be housed on LifeforceTV.com. The prodco’s ‘online broadcast network’ was launched earlier this year as an incubator and distribution channel for independent, web-based Canadian productions.

The episodes will be released weekly on the website and are set to air in early 2011 and as a feature-length TV movie set tentatively to air on Super Channel in January 2011, Chantal LeBlanc-Everett, production manager of In the Rough, tells MiC.

Due to the popularity of golf in Canada, Lifeforce estimates the series to attract as many as a million views when it is released online.

Advertising opportunities on LifeforceTV.com include site takeovers, pre-roll and post-roll ads, and sponsorships and contests.

In the Rough is one of 11 projects that won funding from the Canadian Independent Production Fund’s dramatic web series program, which was introduced this year.
