Prodigy’s XIII starts production

The 13-episode Franco-Canadian production is set to air in spring 2011 on Canwest's Showcase. Brand integration opps are available.

Showcase started taping its new hour-long action series XIII earlier this month in Toronto, and expects to premiere the show in spring 2011.

The 13-episode conspiracy-thriller is a co-production developed by Toronto-based Prodigy Pictures and France’s Cipango.

The show follows a former secret agent who has lost his memory and sets out to find his true identity, all the while being hunted by an anti-government organization. Customized brand integration opps are available that fit the narrative of the show, a Canwest spokesperson told MiC.

The show is based on a popular graphic novel of the same name by Jean Van Hamme and stars Stuart Townsend (The League of Extraordinary Gentleman, Queen of the Damned) as the title character XIII, who is joined onscreen by Aisha Taylor (24, CSI, Friends), Virginie Ledoyen (The Beach) and Caterina Murino (Casino Royale).
