CTV eight-for-eight for fall

All of the network's new fall programming has been picked up for a full season, including Blue Bloods, The Defenders and Nikita on A.

CTV has seen its entire fall TV season rookie slate picked up for the full season.

Eight new US prime-time series on the main CTV stations and the secondary A channels have earned full-season trust. And all eight series are simulcasts.

The full-season pick-ups on CTV follow an average total audience of 1.93 million for Blue Bloods, 1.9 million for  $#*! My Dad Says, 1.84 million viewers for No Ordinary Family, and 1.65 million for The Defenders, according to BBM Canada audience data.

And on the A channels, there are full-season orders for newcomers Mike & Molly, with 790,000 viewers; Lola, with 587,000; Nikita, shot in Toronto, with 455,000; and Hellcats, with 330,000.

CTV took a gamble with its fall 2010 campaign by scheduling new shows on every night and in every time slot from Sunday to Friday.

Susanne Boyce, president, creative, content and channels at CTV, said the strategy paid off: ‘These new hits represent timeslots in every hour of prime from Monday to Friday.’
