Here are the top-ranked shows in Canada (for all persons 2+; all times ET), according to BBM, for Dec. 27, 2010 to Jan. 2, 2011:
Monday: The CTV Evening News led Monday, falling just shy of taking most-watched show every weekday for two weeks in a row, though it did attract an average viewership of 1.596 million, dipping slightly from last week’s 1.609 million average.
Tuesday: It was all about the hockey, as the World Junior Championship on TSN swept the day with 2.343 million viewers tuning in, followed by the CTV Evening News.
Wednesday: Hockey fever continued with the WJC playoffs on TSN scoring the top program of the night, bringing in 2.343 million viewers.
Thursday: Echoing Monday, CTV Evening News won the night, with Bones on Global in second with 1.181 million.
Friday: The World Juniors playoffs continued to reign on the last day of the year with 2.343 million, followed by CTV Evening News and CTV National News rounding out the top three with 1.596 million and 1.072 million viewers respectively.
Saturday: Canucks just couldn’t get enough hockey, as CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada was the third most watched program of the week and topped the day with 1.881 million viewers, followed by HNIC‘s game one pulling in 1.730 million viewers.
Sunday: The World Juniors won the night and the week with the Sunday playoff game, bringing in 2.686 million viewers. Desperate Housewives, a series likely not renewed by ABC for next year, also had a good start to the new year with 1.799 million, followed by CSI: Miami with 1.531 million and Undercover Boss at 1.521 million, all on CTV.
