Teletoon Canada has announced its fall TV lineup will feature eight newly-ordered debuts for its main channel, one new show on Teletoon at Night, and the acquisition of ten classic series for Teletoon Retro.
The main channel’s new shows are primarily animated offerings, with two newcomers in the reality and game show category, Hole in the Wall and a show under the working title Beyond Human.
Hole in the Wall, set to air throughout the week at 8:30 pm, and on Sundays at 7:30 am, is described in the network’s press release as one of the “funniest and wettest live-action game shows on the planet,” while Beyond Human sees host and contortionist Daniel Browning Smith travel the world in search of real people with super-human abilities, airing at 7:30 pm every Friday.
Another notable addition to the sked is a modern and revamped version of The Looney Tunes Show, which will air throughout the week at 6:30 pm.
Targeting the younger demographic of Teletoon watchers is the new cartoon Best Ed, which follows the unlikely friendship between a dog and a squirrel, and will air at 7:30 am on Fridays and 1:30 pm on Saturdays.
Debuting on Saturdays at 7:00 pm, just before Beyond Human, is Young Justice, a half-hour animated series based around the adventures of kid superheroes Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian and Artemis.
Taking the 2:30 slot on Saturdays is My Life Me, a teen-targeted half-hour animated show following female protagonist Birch Small through life at a cooperative high school, while at 3:30 pm Meta Jets airs, a half-hour show about an animated elite flying team protecting the world from evil.
Teletoon will also air new episodes from renewed hits Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Jimmy Two-Shoes, Johnny Test, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien and Adventure Time with Finn and Jake.
Teletoon at Night has added one new show to its lineup this fall with Crash Canyon, an original production developed by Joel Cohen, co-executive producer of The Simpsons. The half-hour animated show is based in Alberta, giving it distinct Canadian appeal. The lineup will also include new episodes of animated spy thriller Archer and comedy cartoon Futurama.
Teletoon Retro will gain classic series My Pet Monster, Ned’s Newt, Felix the Cat, Tom & Jerry Kids, Looney Tunes, Garfield and Friends, For Better or For Worse, Jem, King of the Hill and 60s-era Batman.
