Astral Media has announced its new fall programming for kids’ channels Disney Junior and Family Channel.
Fresh to the Family Channel mix is Jessie (pictured), a live-action comedy from Disney Channel that follows a big-city-meets-small-town girl looking for her place in the world. Along the way she finds herself taking care of four wealthy children, their imaginary friends and a seven-foot lizard in NYC. The series starts off with a sneak-peak episode at 9 p.m. on Sept. 30 and continues every Friday at 7 p.m. starting Oct. 14.
Pranksters is another new Disney Channel-produced series that is set to air on Family Channel at 7 p.m. on Sept. 30. The reality show host, Mitchel Musso, is found pulling playful pranks on the fans of tween celebrity idols, including Selena Gomez, as they surprise them with in-the-flesh meetings.
Disney Junior appeals to a younger audience in November with a new animated short-form series called Minnie’s Bow-Toons which follows the iconic mouse and the shenanigans that take place in her Bow-Tique Hotel.
Sponsorship opportunities are open for promotional partners on both channels, Holly Chapman, director of sales, Astral tells MiC.
And she adds that Family Channel and Disney Junior “can accommodate advertising online at Family.ca and DisneyJunior.ca through banner ads, page sponsorships and contests.”
