OMNI launches national newscasts

The Rogers Media station is launching hour-long newscasts in Cantonese, Mandarin and Punjabi.

Rogers Media-owned OMNI Television has announced it is launching three hour-long national newscasts.

Airing in Cantonese, Mandarin and Punjabi, the national newscasts will focus on international stories of the day as well as expanding on local stories of importance to each region. The newscasts will be focusing on local stories from communities within Ontario, B.C and Alberta., as well as national news.

OMNI News: Mandarin National Edition starts Monday, Nov.7 at 5 p.m.; OMNI News: Cantonese National Edition launches Monday at 9 p.m.; and the half-hour OMNI News: Punjabi National Edition starts Monday, Nov. 14 at 11 p.m.
