Annette Warring named president of Aegis Media Canada

Warring tells MiC what her promotion, and other staff changes, mean for the company.

Annette Warring has been named president of Aegis Media Canada. In the new role, Warring will now oversee Aegis’s digital company Isobar in addition to its media agencies, Carat and Vizeum in Canada. Warring most recently worked as COO of Aegis Media Canada.

Aegis has also added Chris Thompson as its chief client officer. Thompson has spent the last two years at MediaCom Canada as chief interactive officer, leading the digital team with clients like Canadian Tire and Winners.

Lastly, Sasha Grujicic has been promoted to EVP group head of strategy, from SVP in the same role. Grujicic will be responsible for building a centre of excellence in insight and digital marketing, according to a release.

Warring tells MiC the changes are about bringing all of Aegis Media Canada under a consolidated leadership.

“It says the company shares a single vision and goal, and that we are all striving towards that,” she says. “It also ensures we are able to seamlessly bring integrated strategies to our clients effortlessly. There are no silos, you can no longer talk about communications strategies in isolation of digital strategies. It is not possible anymore.”

These people moves from Aegis Media come on the heels of the media co’s agency Carat winning the global account for GM earlier this week.
