Global unveils spring launches

Canadian shows Canada Sings and Rookie Blue are both back with new seasons this May on Global Television.

Global Television is back with returning seasons of Canadian shows Canada Sings and Rookie Blue this May.

Canada Sings returns Tuesday, May 15 at 10 p.m. The reality show pits Canadian workplaces against each other in a sing-off competition judged by Rob Van Winkle (a.k.a. Vanilla Ice), Jann Arden and new judge, choreographer Laurieann Gibson.

Also returning for a new season is Rookie Blue, which is back on Thursday, May 24 at 10 p.m.

The Canadian cop drama will kick-off its third season with a guest appearance from William Shatner, who will play a Henry McLeod, a belligerent drunk driver with a haunting secret and a grudge against police, according to a release.

The show ended its second season with 1.585 million viewers, according to BBM Canada. It also launched a choose-your-own-adventure online video site called “The Interrogation Room” last summer.
