The Bachelor Canada adds an app

The multi-platform extension from Rogers Media lets users participate in bachelor Brad Smith's search for love.

Viewers of The Bachelor Canada, will you accept this…app? Rogers Media is hoping the answer is yes, announcing the launch of a co-viewing app for its soon-to-be-launched Canadian version of the dating franchise.

The app is available for free for the Blackberry Playbook in the Blackberry App World and for the iPad via the App Store or at iTunes.ca.

Features on The Bachelor Canada app will include a virtual rose ceremony, sponsored by Schick Hydro Silk razors, which allows viewers to hand out virtual flowers to their top bachelorettes leading up to and during each episode. Participating viewers will have a chance to win prizes including a trip for two to the live taping of The Bachelor Canada: After the Final Rose special.

Also on the app is a fantasy pool sponsored by Colgate Optic White Toothpaste. The pool features a weekly set of trivia questions that go live each Thursday morning, with fans having until 8 p.m. the following Wednesday to submit answers. The player with the most correct answers at the end of the season will win a trip for two to a fantasy destination, according to a release. Players can also compete against friends by connecting through Facebook.

The Bachelor Canada premieres next Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 9 p.m. on Citytv. It moves to its regular Wednesday timeslot at 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 10.
