Hot on the heels of launching its digital subscription service Globe Unlimited, the Globe and Mail has brought home four Eppy Awards, presented by US-based Editor and Publisher. The international awards, which are in their 17th year, are judged by a panel of media industry members in the US before handing out awards in 31 categories.
The Globe and Mail was tied with The Salt Lake Tribune for the prize of Best Daily Newspaper Website with over one million unique monthly visitors. It also took the prizes forĀ a site with over one million unique monthly visitors in the categories of Best Overall Website Design, Best Automotive Website for Globe Drive and Best Business Blog for Economy Lab.
Taking home two prizes was The Edmonton Journal, which brought home the prize for Best News or Event Feature on a website with under one million unique monthly visitors for its “Homicide: Beyond the Numbers” piece and also Best Use of Social Media.
The CBC’s CBCNews.ca won an award for Best News Video for a site with over one million monthly unique visitors for Bullyproof. The Ottawa Citizen also took home one award for Best Overall Website Design for a site with under one million unique monthly visitors.
