Citytv grabs Mike & Molly for Monday night CBS comedy block

CTV released the comedy due a scheduling clash with other programming.

Rogers Media has acquired the Warner Bros. Domestic Television comedy Mike & Molly, which was previously with CTV.

Beginning in January, Citytv stations have the complete CBS comedy block to simulcast on Monday nights, including How I Met Your Mother and 2 Broke Girls.

CTV freed up the Chuck Lorre sitcom starring Melissa McCarthy and Bill Gardell due to an apparent scheduling clash with both The Voice and Dancing with the Stars, according to a release. The Bell Media channel is also making room for Kevin Bacon’s new drama The Following in its winter sked.

Citytv also has a two-hour Fox comedy block simulcast on Tuesday nights and ABC’s comedy block on Wednesday night, which includes the Modern Family juggernaut.

Lorre’s two other hit comedies, Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory, remain anchor comedies on CTV.
