ICA announces 2013 board of directors

The new board will be chaired by Publicis CEO Andrew Bruce.

The Institute of Communications Agencies has announced its 2013 board of directors, with Andrew Bruce, CEO of Publicis as chair. Bruce was most recently vice chair of the ICA board and chair of Advertising Week. Past chair Laurie Young, managing director at Ogilvy, will now chair the board of governors, which provides strategic counsel to the board of directors, according to a release.

“Laurie has been a passionate and visionary board chair, with an unswerving commitment to the ICA’s transformation in these changing times,” said Gillian Graham, chief executive officer, ICA, in a release. “Under Laurie’s leadership, the ICA Board has forged groundbreaking new initiatives, which included a greatly enhanced website, rebranding Advertising Week to FFWD Advertising and Marketing Week, expanded talent development programming, and an increase in ICA membership across the country. Andrew Bruce has made significant contributions to the ICA’s new initiatives, and we are thrilled to have his leadership and positive energy to continue the ICA’s momentum.  We have a number of new committees, and will be undertaking several innovative initiatives over the next year.”

Bruce leads a newly elected board of directors which includes: Al Scornaienchi from Agency59, Aldo Cundari from Cundari, Andrew Bergstrom from Cossette, Arthur Fleischmann from John St., David Gibb from JWT Canada, Doug Turney from MacLaren McCann, Laurie Young from Ogilvy, Paul Reilly from BBDO, Penny Stevens from Media Experts, and Gillian Graham and Jani Yates from the ICA.
