TC Media launches four mags on iPad

Canadian Living, Coup de Pouce, Elle Canada and Elle Quebec are now available in the App Store and offer iPad-specific content.

TC Media announced Wednesday the release of iPad editions of four of its major magazines, Canadian Living, Coup de Pouce, Elle Canada and Elle Quebec, on the Apple Newsstand app.

“So many readers now access their magazines on devices. [This] allows readers who have iPads to experience our brands, with extra content that was developed specifically for iPad,” Katherine Chartrand, director of internal and external communications, TC Media, tells MiC, noting that additional features will include embedded video, audio clips, slideshows and other options.

She adds that the iPad release of the four magazines is an extension of TC Media’s multi-platform strategy for the brands, which already includes web portals and iPhone apps.

She says the magazines, which target a core demo of women aged 20 to 54, are an ideal fit for lifestyle, fashion, food and entertainment brands, as well as packaged goods advertisers.

The iPad editions of Canadian Living, Coup de Pouce, Elle Canada and Elle Quebec will offer full-page ads and sponsorship opportunities similar to those in its print editions. No new ad units are currently planned.
