The two-hour season finale of Big Brother Canada on Slice on Thursday May 2 drew an audience of 657,000 viewers (V2+) and 368,000 in the A25-54 demo. That ranked the Canuck competition reality series as the most-watched specialty series of the night, according to numbers from BBM Canada provided by Shaw Media.
The series produced by Insight Productions netted big audience numbers on TV and online through its first-season run, attributed in part to the Power Play game, in which viewers predicted key events and influenced what happened on the show, and on live feeds online.
Big Brother Canada aired on Slice three times a week, with Big Brother Canada After Dark airing seven days a week from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. (EST).
The recent Apr. 7 episode drew its highest audience to date, with 757,000 (V2+) and 476,300 (A25-54) viewers.
The series finale ended with a voting upset, in which Nova Scotia teacher Jillian MacLaughlin was named as the winner over fan favourite Gary Levy.
To cap off the season, Entertainment Tonight Canada will air a Big Brother Reunion Special on May 8 at 7:30 p.m.
