Corus Radio Toronto has announced a new on-air lineup for its weekday schedule. The shake-up comes in the wake of former host Dean Blundell’s departure from the station earlier this year following a suspension for comments made on the air.
Replacing The Dean Blundell Show will be a new morning show 5:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. hosted by Dominik Diamond, Josie Dye and Greg Beharrell. Diamond most recently served as host of The Dominik Diamond Morning Show on Halifax Radio 96.5, and has had stints hosting at Q107, BBC London and BBC Scotland. Dye is well known by Edge listeners as the station’s longtime midday announcer and host of nationally syndicated countdown programĀ Josie’s Top 20. Beharrell is the current evening host for the Edge as well as a video contributor for Funnyordie.com
Middays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. will be hosted by Carlos Benevides, a former Edge announcer and current co-host of The Beat Breakfast for Corus Radio Kitchener’s 91.5 The Beat. Afternoon drive host “Fearless” Fred Kennedy will be joined by new co-host Melani “Mel” Mariani 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Edge weekend announcer Adam Ricard will now host evenings 7 p.m. to midnight.
The new station roster will debut Monday March 31
On March 9, The Edge debuted a new Sunday program, The Spirit of Radio Sundays, as a throw-back to the station’s heyday in the late 70s and early 80s when it was known by its call-sign CFNY.
Who cares. This story would be relevant in 1998.
Right on! It seems to have taken Farough just as long to dumb Numbdell.
