Quebecor is consolidating its media offerings with the creation of Media Group. The new group will be dedicated to entertainment and news at the company and will include TVA Group, Sun Media Corporation, QMI Agency, Quebecor Media Sales, Messageries Dynamiques and Quebecor Media Printing.
The new group will be led by Julie Tremblay, who has been with Quebecor since 1989, working as the president and CEO of Sun Media since 2013. She will also serve as president and CEO of TVA Group within the larger Media Group.
Media Group’s goal is to offer consumers and clients opportunities across multiple platforms, according to a release on the restructuring.
Quebecor has also released its second quarter financial results for the three months ended June 30. Revenue at the company is up 0.6% over the same period last year, coming in at $1.07 billion for the second quarter of 2014.
Overall revenue from the company’s news media department is down from the same period last year, dropping from $201.2 million in 2013 to $186.6 million in 2014 for the second quarter. Revenue from the broadcast segment is also down, dropping from $115.2 million in 2013 to $113.8 million for the second quarter of 2014.
