Cue Digital scores touchdown with NFL deal

CEO David UK on details of his company signing a two-year exclusive contract around ads on NFL.com.

Cue Digital Media has signed a two-year deal with the NFL that gives the company exclusive rights around selling advertising on NFL.com and its mobile site in Canada.

David UK, CEO and founder of Cue Digital Media, tells MiC the NFL’s audience is 74% male with an average target demo of 18 to 54 and a sweet spot of 32. He says outside the US, Canada is the largest market for the NFL globally.

The audience for NFL.com peaks between September and January with an average of 1.5 million unique visitors per month in Canada, says UK. That dips down to about 500,000 unique visitors per month in the off-season, he adds.

UK says advertising options on the site include standard ad units, skins, site takeovers and mobile ad integrations. While the deal isn’t the biggest for  Cue Digital Media audience-wise, UK says the NFL is the biggest brand that it has signed with in Canada.
