Data Dive: Do Canadians still ‘like’ Facebook?

IPG Mediabrands digs into social media usage numbers, with 16- to 24-year-olds over-indexing on two platforms.

Where are Canadians spending their social media time? According to new data from UM’s social media study, Wave 8, Facebook is still tops across all key demos, with 79% of people aged 16 to 54 using the platform. The study surveyed 1,000 active internet users in Canada.

All other social media networks pale in comparison, though 16- to 24-year-olds are using Instagram and Snapchat in higher than average numbers.
