COMB adds arena ad co to roster

Rec Media will have its about 2,800 ads measured by the out-of-home measurement bureau.

Rec Media, an ad network in community rec facilities in Western Canada, is joining the Canadian Out-Of-Home Measurement Bureau (COMB).

The bureau will measure and provide circulation numbers for Rec’s 2,800 arena rink boards and wall boards in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Regina and Saskatoon, and include it in its January 2016 COMB Data Report, which is made available to members.

Research will be conducted in the late fall and early summer.

It’s a new category for COMB, and its president Rosanne Caron says it could open up opportunities for other companies operating ad boards in similar facilities to join the bureau.

Troy Sedgwick, president and CEO of Rec Media, said in a statement that having its audiences measured was an important step for the company, as it will let it provide agency partners with industry-approved measurement.
