CBC names new multiplatform director

Karen Eckert has joined the company as director of multiplatform media sales.

The CBC and Radio-Canada Media Solutions Group has added to its top ranks, hiring Karen Eckert as director of multiplatform media solutions.

Eckert will be based in Toronto, and will be report to executive director, multiplatform media solutions for CBC/Radio-Canada, Mary Kreuk. Her mandate in the new role is to lead and develop her team, and help them hit sales goals across all platforms.

Prior to joining the CBC/Radio-Canada team, Eckert worked as director of Toronto retail sales at Bell Media, where Kreuk also worked. Eckert has also held positions at Craig Media Inc., Sun TV and MBS.

She joins the newly formed CBC and Radio-Canada Media Solutions group, which was renamed from the CBC’s Revenue Group earlier this year, and aims to focus on sales across the pubcaster’s English and French properties across Canada.
