MediaCom has topped RECMA’s latest Network Diagnostics report, besting former top agency Carat, who last sat in the top spot.
The global report includes 650 agencies in 40 countries, measuring across 19 factors, including pitch competitiveness, client loyalty, top management and awards.
This report is an additional update to the usually twice yearly February and October reports, and comes before the summer because of the impact of the research on competitiveness in pitches.
The GroupM agency narrowly beat out former leader Carat, with MEC and OMD following in third and fourth place globally.
RECMA notes that the top four agencies are well ahead of the second group, which is comprised of Mindshare, ZenithOptimedia, Havas and Starcom. The report notes the results of the major global and U.S. pitches currently underway will determine the balance of the top shops. It also notes a second tier of the industry, which is comprised of three younger global agencies (Vizeum, PHD and Maxus) and two more mature ones (Initiative and UM).
