Joe Strolz has added a global remit to his role at the head of AOL Canada, being named the GM of partner integration on Microsoft.
The role will have him working on the partnership between the two companies, which was made official in July of this year. Strolz will also remain GM of AOL Canada, and continue to oversee the Canadian business.
The deal has Microsoft Advertising’s team being integrated into AOL Canada, with about 45 sales, marketing and account management staff making the move. Strolz’s new position is a familiar one – he moved to AOL Canada from Microsoft Advertising in 2013.
Alongside, Brad Cressman has been appointed to a new role at AOL Canada as head of business operations. Cressman has been with AOL Canada for five years, most recently working as VP of marketing and content and international brand strategy. In his new role Cressman will oversee the daily operations of the Canadian business and current leadership team, reporting directly to Strolz.
“I was one of Graham [Moysey]’s first hires when AOL Canada was about 35 people, and I feel like part of a growing community,” says Cressman. “When this opportunity came up I was very jazzed about it, because it’s the chance to grow the family I have been part of for five years.”
Rashida Jeeva takes over Cressman’s content responsibilities, being promoted to head of content at AOL Canada. Jeeva has been with AOL Canada since 2011, working as GM of Huffington Post Canada, and leading projects including the launch of the video studio and custom content solutions.
In another move at the company, Jaime Parsons has joined AOL Canada as head of marketing, taking over the role left vacant last year when Laura Pearce moved to Blue Ant Media. Parsons joins AOL Canada from Rogers Communications where she worked as director of social business and strategy.
