California-based MCN Kin Community has closed a $13.5 million round of series D financing.

The company’s Canadian partner, Corus Entertainment, invested in the round, which was led by Emil Capital Partners. Australia-based Allure Media and U.S.-based digital company TEGNA Processed with VSCOcam with f2 presetalso participated.

Kin Community will use the new funding to increase its original content production and distribution across OTT and traditional media platforms, the focus on which will be food, home and DIY programming. The funding will also allow the MCN to focus on expanding into Australia and the U.K. and investing in global sales, marketing and partner management infrastructure.

The MCN has over 170 million followers across social platforms and more than 600 million global monthly video views. Its creator community includes Canadians Yolanda Gampp (How To Cake It), Rachel Cooper (Rachhloves) and Lauren Toyota (Hot For Food).
