Jaclyn Levesque has joined the flock as Twitter Canada’s newest senior account executive. Levesque comes to the social media co from Yahoo! Canada, where she worked as a senior account director.

Google to crack down on mobile pop-ups

Mobile sites that use pop-ups and interstitial ads should listen up. Beginning in January Google will be lowering the ranking of sites that use those types of ads on mobile, because they can disrupt the user experience.  That lowered ranking could result in drops in traffic to the offending sites.

TSN gets into the game with Live Mic Broadcast

Viewers tuning into Sunday’s TSN broadcast of the CFL game between Calgary Stampeders and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats will hear some new voices in the mix. The sportscaster is introducing its first-ever Live Mic Broadcast of the regular season, meaning fans will be able to hear sounds from the field courtesy of quarterbacks Zach Collaros and Bo Levi Mitchell, as well as coaches Kent Austin and Dave Dickenson.

Sid Lee consolidates in Europe

Sid Lee has announced plans to close its Amsterdam office as it looks to consolidate its investment in the European market at a single office. Effective Aug. 31, Sid Lee Amsterdam will close its doors, at which point Sid Lee Paris will be the hub for the agency’s activities in Europe. Sid Lee Paris has also been given a new mission, to grow the agency brand not only in France, but across Europe and internationally.
