Bell Media has expanded the program offerings for its ad-supported streaming apps, Space Go and Bravo Go.
On Bravo Go, the media co will add full seasons of The Handmaid’s Tale and Underground to the app, along with rolling stacks of episodes of Suits, Chance, Famous in Love, Queen of the South, Shooter and Pretty Little Liars, which will be made available as those new seasons air on broadcast.
The Handmaid’s Tale, based on the iconic novel by Margaret Atwood, has turned into a record-breaking hit for Bravo. Final Numeris data found the premiere saw a total reach of 793,000 viewers, the highest for any broadcast premiere in Bravo’s history. So far, the series, which has aired three episodes, has averaged 722,600 viewers per episode. The specialty channel was on a free preview from April 11 until May 9.
The Space streaming app has added the latest season of Doctor Who and will roll out the new seasons of Space originals Dark Matter, Wynonna Earp, Orphan Black and Killjoys. Also heading to the app are season 12 of Face Off and the new series Blood Drive.
All programs should be available on the apps the day after their broadcast premieres and will be made available for varying lengths of time. Doctor Who, for example, will be available for a month on the app after its season finale on linear, while other series will last 28 days or 35.
The new programming is available to subscribers of participating Bell Media distribution partners, including Bell, Bell Aliant, Rogers and Telus. The offerings will soon be made available to Shaw Cable and Shaw Direct subscribers.
Non-subscribers have access to a selection of Space and Bravo programming to sample.
