The Bachelor Canada announces first sponsors

Three brands will sponsor the new season of the female-targeted reality show, which has moved to W from City.

Corus has announced the first set of sponsors for its inaugural season of The Bachelor Canada.

Sponsors include Sunwing, Michael Hill Jeweller and Two Oceans Wines, all of which served as sponsors with the first season of The Bachelorette Canada last year. Both shows air on Corus’ W Network.

The new season of The Bachelor Canada, which will premiere in the fall (with a specific date TBD), is the first in more than three years for the show. Two seasons of the reality show aired on Rogers Media-owned City between 2012 and 2014. W commissioned the show in fall 2016.

Sunwing will serve as the exclusive travel sponsor of the brand, bringing bachelor Chris Leroux and the contestants to three of the series’ secret destinations abroad. It will also host a contest offering fans two chances to win Bachelor-inspired vacations overseas. The contest will be promoted on-air during both The Bachelor Canada and The Bachelor Canada After Show.

Michael Hill Jeweller will serve as both a broadcast and digital sponsor, providing jewelry for dates, as well as the engagement ring for the winner from its bridal collection. The jeweler will also provide the engagement ring for the winner from its bridal collection. Michael Hill will also sponsor an online predictions game with WNetwork.com. The game will go live on the website on the same day as the premiere of the season, with details on the rules and prizes to be announced.

Also sponsoring the series is Two Oceans Wines, which will be featured throughout the series. Two Oceans first jumped on board with The Bachelorette Canada last year as part of an effort by parent company PMA Canada to pivot away from mass-market OOH campaigns and more toward niche efforts that targeted the female 25 to 35-year-old demographic.

Corus worked with agencies VMC (Sunwing), Jungle Media and Your Brand Integrated Marketing Communications (Two Oceans) and Media Experts (Michael Hill) on the various partnerships. It is still offering sponsorship opportunities for The Bachelor Canada After Show.
