Metcalfe and Stewart to chair CMDC
Jungle Media managing director Sheri Metcalfe and Wavemaker CEO Ann Stewart (right) will serve as the chairs of the Canadian Media Directors Council. Both have served as board members, with Metcalfe also serving as the CMDC’s Youth Ambassador chair. As chairs of the 13-person board, Metcalfe and Stewart will help advance the CMDC’s mission to advocate and advise professionals in the media and communications industry. The CMDC also hosts an annual industry conference and creates the annual CMDC Media Digest guidebook.
Blue Ant restructuring results in two impending exits
Blue Ant Media is implementing a company-wide restructuring that will see EVP of content Vanessa Case and SVP of original content Marcia Martin exiting in November and December respectively. Both Case and Martin work out of Blue Ant’s Toronto offices. The moves were confirmed by MiC sister publications Playback Daily and Realscreen. Senior director of global communications Sarah Etherden said the company plans to move its Love Nature content operations from Toronto to Washington as it transitions to its global networks operation.
Abacus on-boards new director
Adam Risbridger has joined Abacus Agency as the new director of customer success. Risbridger has spent the last five years at Facebook in client-facing operations, first as a media solutions specialst and then as a client solutions manager. Risbridger also worked in the agency world prior to Facebook, formerly serving as a digital planner with Starcom in Sweden where his clients included Samsung.
Alternator adds former Suite 66 manager
Omnicom Media Group Canada’s creative content division, Alternator, had added Jon Godfrey to the team in a program manager role. Godfrey comes to Alternator after five years at marketing agency Suite 66, where he worked as a brand manager. He has also spent three years at Quebecor Media as an account manager.
