Samsung teams with Blue Ant around 4K content

Love Nature's SVOD product doesn't offer advertising, but the TV maker has signed on to cross-promote next-gen hardware and content.

Blue Ant Media’s Love Nature 4K SVOD product doesn’t currently have an advertising offer, but it is partnering directly with a brand to drive trial for its super high-resolution programming.

Blue Ant partnered with Samsung Electronics Canada, makers of the high-resolution QLED TV and the Tizen Smart TV platform. Samsung owners on Tizen are being offered a free three-month trail of Love Nature 4K, which has 300 hours of natural history programming.

Love Nature 4K is the SVOD companion of a linear broadcast specialty channel operated by Blue Ant. The linear channel had a 1.6 million-viewer average monthly reach over the last year, according to Numeris numbers provided by Blue Ant.

Tizen users currently see Love Nature 4K on their Smart Menu during the promotion’s duration, and retailers selling Samsung’s TVs will use Love Nature content to showcase the displays.

While Blue Ant has run several brand partnerships for its broadcast properties, this is its first SVOD brand partnership. Discussions began at CES, where the two companies saw an alignment around 4K content.

CORRECTION: This story originally stated that Love Nature was run in partnership with Smithsonian Networks. While Smithsonian partners on the property internationally, it does not do so with Blue Ant. Media in Canada regrets the error.
