MKTG names Matthew Logue president

S&E founder Brian Cooper will stay on as CEO of the agency he's steered for a decade.

MKTG Canada, the Dentsu-Aegis sponsorship and lifestyle agency, has named Matthew Logue its new president.

Logue, who has been with the company since 2008 when it was independently owned and operated as S&E Sponsorship, served most recently as COO. He’ll retain those chief operating officer duties in his new role as he looks to broaden the company’s business beyond the sports realm.

Brian Cooper was initially named president of S&E Sponsorship in 2008 (he arrived after serving as president of the Toronto Argonauts and a VP with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, helping establish the Toronto Raptors NBA franchise in Canada).  He was then made president and CEO of the agency when Dentsu-Aegis acquired it in 2016, rebranded it as part of its MKTG network, and now remains aboard as CEO of the 40-person agency’s Canadian operations.

While MKTG is positioned globally as a “lifestyle” sponsorship expert, the Canadian agency built its reputation in the sports sponsorship arena, working with clients such as Scotiabank, Cadillac Fairview and DanoneWave to position the brands around hockey and the Olympics.
