Bell has become the top radio advertising buyer in Toronto for its internet and TV services – for one week, at least. The most recent Media Monitors charts showed the telco shoot to #1 from #11 the previous week, purchasing 914 spots.
Bell’s place on the chart was followed by three new entrants: The Canadian National Exhibition at #2, the Infinity Dealer Association at #3 and Mazda at #4. Rounding out the top five was McDonald’s, up one spot from #6.
Other new entrants to the Toronto charts were the Nissan Dealer Association (#6) and the Honda Dealer Association (#9).
Despite Bell’s big buy, the car and truck dealer association category was the highest buying category for the city, purchasing 4,097 spots in total (almost four times its buy the previous week).
A different division of Bell took the top in Montreal: Bell Mobility, which was not on the previous week’s charts, came in at #1 with 354 spots.
Shopico followed at #2, up from #5. SpaceTV held strong at #3, while Mitsubishi climbed to #4 from #41 and Brault & Martineau rose to #5 from #12.
Also new to the top 10 in Montreal was Pizza Pizza at #8.
For categories, cars and trucks (local dealerships) took the top spot in Montreal. All together, local dealers purchased 684 spots, just passing dealer associations, which bought 624 spots.
