There’s a new way to buy and manage Snapchat ads.
Canadian businesses using Shopify’s ecommerce platform to sell goods can now buy their ads directly from that interface. This makes Snapchat the third player to offer such a service within Shopify, with the first two being Facebook (Carousel ads and dynamic ads) and Google (search and YouTube ads).
Merchants can create and manage campaigns directly through the Snapchat Ads app within Shopify’s interface. At launch, they will be able to target geographically, demographically and based on interest. This buying will apply to Story Ads. Availability within Canada will roll out over the next several weeks.
For merchants, they will have the option of syncing their product catalogs and create ads directly from the collection. Previously, advertisers had to manually export their catalogs into a file and then upload it into Snapchat’s ad manager.
They can also auto-install the Snap Pixel tool on their website. Snap and Shopify have already partnered on native commerce tools for select brands, however this news does not apply to native advertising.
As of Snap’s most recently quarterly, the social platform’s daily active users are up to 190 million, from 186 million a year ago. Snap’s stock has been on the rise throughout this year, opening 2019 at less than US$6.00 per share and since growing to $10.91 by market close on Friday, April 25.
