BMO back on top: Media Monitors

Auto industry, both foreign and domestic, continue to top buying categories in both Toronto and Montreal.

In the Toronto radio market, Bank of Montreal was back on the top of the Media Monitors Charts for the week of May 6 to 12.

With the purchase of 1,417 radio ad units, the financial institution moved up from #4. The OLG Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation was up one spot to #2 with 1,124 plays. And the Nissan Dealer Association made quite the splash with 1,001 plays to take the #3 spot, up from #58 the previous week.

Bell Internet and TV and CIBC helped round out the top-five with 956 and 843 spots respectively. Financial services remained the top category with 5,254, a big climb from 4,086 last week. The auto dealer association category took the #2 spot with 2,505 buys and the domestic factory auto category took #3 with 2,034.

It was CTV who remained in the top spot in the Montreal market for the third consecutive week with 431 buys, followed by BMO in the #2 spot with 419 buys and Chevrolet (who did not appear on last week’s chart) with 235 buys in #3.

Hyundai and Shoppers Drug Mart rounded out the top-five with 223 and 200 buys.

Cars and trucks, Asian factory were the top buying category with 1,025 spots, up from 236 last week. The domestic factory auto category took #2 with 832 spots and the financial category took #3 with 768 spots.
