Emily Douglas has moved to another agency in the IPG Mediabrands family.
Douglas, who previously served as VP of partnerships with Initiative, will now serve as managing director of Orion Canada. She will begin her transition from her current role to her new one immediately.
Orion serves as IPG Mediabrands’ trade arm, specializing in connecting both advertising clients and media partners with unique ad solutions. Services it provides include asset optimization, media savings and more.
As managing director, Douglas will be responsible for accelerating Orion’s business, profile and commercial growth in Canada. Besides organic growth in its established specialties, she will also focus on growing Orion’s base of expertise. Because Douglas’ previous position with Initiative involved developing close relationships with broadcasters, publishers and other media brands, as well as developing partnerships for integrated clients, the agency says this will be instrumental in its growth.
Orion has seen a number of senior leadership changes in recent months; former North American managing director Tricia Allen (who started out as managing director for Canada) moved to m/Six as its new president. Similarly, Boris Cho, the shop’s former senior director of marketing and client strategy, moved to Midas Exchange, the corporate trade arm operated by WPP, to head up its first Canadian office.
