Nathalie Cook returns to TSN as VP

Cook, who spent three years as president at Cimoroni & Company, will oversee production and digital strategy at the sports network.

Bell Media-owned sports network TSN has named Nathalie Cook as its new VP.

In the position, Cook, who previously served as the VP of sales and brand partnerships at TSN (2013-2016), will oversee production and digital strategy, including TSN series, specials and its in-house-produced news and information shows. In addition, Cook will head up recruitment, development and management of all on-air talent. She will report to Stewart Johnston, president, media sales, marketing and TSN.

Cook returns to the Bell Media fold after spending three years as president at Cimoroni & Company, a strategy and sales group specializing in connecting brands with sport and entertainment talent and properties.

NathalieCookHeadshotAs well, Shawn Redmond, who currently serves as VP of both TSN and Discovery, will see his remit expand to include all event productions for TSN. (Both Cook and Redmond now hold the title of VP at TSN, with each overseeing a separate area of the business.)

In the expanded role, Redmond now has singular oversight over TSN’s live event programming and production, from initial negotiations with leagues and teams, to the final product delivered across all of TSN’s platforms. He was promoted to his current title last October after Bell Media shuffled a number of its executive posts following the departure of longtime Discovery Networks GM and VP Ken MacDonald. He will continue to oversee the business strategy for all the Discovery brands.

In addition, Redmond has joined the board of Toronto’s Dome Productions, a production facilities provider jointly owned by Bell Media and Rogers Media.

Earlier in the year, TSN premiered a new installment of its CSA-winning docuseries Engraved on a Nation, which previously aired in 2012. The new, six-part series explored topics like the legacy of Marilyn Bell’s swim across Lake Ontario and the fan culture surrounding Toronto FC. Episodes were produced by independent production companies such as Anaid Productions, Circle Blue Entertainment, AK Films, Jocumentary Productions and Clique Pictures.
