Sleep Country Canada hits top spot: Media Monitors

In Montreal, Pharmaprix spends big to rise to the top while CTV steadies the top-five.

Sleep Country Canada hit the top of the Media Monitors charts in Toronto for the week ending Jan. 5, rising seven spots with the purchase of 1,108 ad units. 1-800-GOT-JUNK? followed with 659 spots and Peloton climbed nearly 30 spots to take third with 578 ads purchased. Casino Woodbine and Shoppers Drug Mart rounded out the top-five.

Amusements and events were the top-buying category with the addition of more than 1,000 spots for a total of 1,460 followed by banks, credit unions and other financial services, also increasing nearly 1,000 spots to 1,391. In third, public service and organizational advertising spent slightly less totalling 1,313 spots. Rounding out the top-five were television and cable TV and bedding retailers and manufacturers.

In Montreal, Pharmaprix rose more than 60 spots to #1 with 333 plays followed by CTV steady at #2 with 264 plays and Electrika rose from #30 to #3 with 233 plays. Accent Insurance Solutions and McDonald’s took #4 and #5 respectively.

With 558 spots, television and cable TV was the top-buying category followed by pharmacy with 557 (up from 137 the week previous) and consumer electronics sales and service with 521. Bedding retailers and manufacturers and apparel footwear accessories and retailers rounded out the top-five.
