Last week’s Numeris report saw a significant softening of AMAs following many series and season premieres. The latest report, which covers the week ending October 18, shows some improvements across key shows like The Masked Singer on both a regional and national basis, while SNL improved slightly.
The Amazing Race also premiered this week, taking second place with 1.72 million viewers. While this was good news for network CTV, those viewers might have come at the expense of another rising star. For its first two weeks of broadcast, the Ken Jeong-hosted I Can See Your Voice was in the top three; this week, it pulled in only 909,000 viewers, dropping off the top-five list. It airs in the same slot as The Amazing Race.
Another new series, Departure, pulled in big audiences for a second week, placing fifth with an AMA of 1.27 million viewers.
Regionally, La voix grew its audience once again among Francophone viewers. Same-show increases were also seen in Montreal, Toronto and western markets – although Vancouver viewers opted for real politics over political spoofs, with the provincial leaders’ debate taking the top spot with 250,000 viewers.
