People Moves: CMAPRC Hall of Fame names 2021 inductees

Plus, Jim Pattison names new national sales lead and Rogers hires head of digital content strategy.

Kevin Johnson, Sonia Carreno among CMAPRC Hall of Fame inductees

The Canadian Marketing, Advertising, PR and Communications Hall of Fame has inducted more than two-dozen marketing and media execs in its first year.

Among this year’s list of inductees include Kevin Johnson, CEO of Mediacom Canada, for his leadership at his agency and throughout the media industry; IAB Canada president Sonia Carreno, for her efforts to bring “the Canadian marketing and advertising industry into the digital age”; Joshua Richards, director of creative technology at John St., and Julian Franklin, president of Franklin Management Group, for their roles as founding members of POCAMNancy Marcus, former CMO at Kruger Products, for her “years of contributions in the CPG space”; Frank Palmer, chairman of Palmer Stamnes DDB and Elevator, for “years of leadership and contributions to the industry.”

Jim Pattison Broadcast Group promotes Mike Jean to national role

20180329-Mike-JeanThe Jim Pattison Broadcast Group promoted Mike Jean to director of metro sales, effective Wednesday.

Jean spent the last 11 years as sales manager for Pattison’s radio stations in Victoria, including 100.3 the Q and The Zone 91.3.

Rod Schween, president of the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group, says Jean has been one of the top-performing sales leaders, something he hopes will be brought to Jean’s new role, which covers all of its metro markets.

Rick Matthews to lead digital content strategy for Rogers properties

rick4-622x404Rogers Sports & Media hired Rick Matthews as director of content strategy on its music brands and in-house productions team.

A newly created role, Matthews will lead the digital content strategy for properties like Breakfast Television, Cityline, 98.1 CHFI and KiSS 92.5. He joins after five years at Kin Community, Corus’ influencer content studio, where he was its VP.
