Automotive categories made a big push in Toronto’s radio market, but so did financial services, translating into Desjardins being the city’s most active radio advertiser for the week of May 10 to 16, according the latest data from Media Monitors.
Desjardins moved from fourth to first, pushing Goodfood into a close second. Categorically, insurance providers upped their spots by 50% for the period over the week prior, with auto dealers also significantly increasing their buys.
The auto trend was also reflected in Montreal, with domestic automakers, Asian automakers and local dealers also making big increases.
That translated into Hyundai jumping into third at the account level in Montreal, followed by Chevrolet Spark, Kia Dealer Association and the Toyota Dealer Association.
However, the Government of Quebec maintained its lead in the market, followed by Hydro-Quebec.
