Kinesso Canada names Karel Wegert as president
Karel Wegert has been named president of Kinesso Canada, IPG’s connected intelligence company, which includes stewardship of addressable activation company, Matterkind.
He joins Kinesso from Media Experts, a Mediabrands agency, where he was EVP. During his 15-year tenure, Wegert was instrumental in helping to launch Xpeto, Canada’s first agency programmatic trading desk, and he spearheaded the launch of Media Experts’ Audience and Analytics service.
As president, Wegert becomes part of the Canadian executive leadership team, reporting to Graham Moysey, CEO, Mediabrands Canada and Ian Johnson, Global COO, Kinesso.
Wegert succeeds Michael Ingemann, previously managing director of Matterkind Canada. Ingemann will continue to play an important role at Matterkind as SVP, Global Business Solutions, based in Copenhagen.
Sabio Holdings adds new chief growth officer
Sabio Holdings, a provider of CTV/streaming TV advertising platforms headquartered in Toronto, has hired Jon Stimmel as chief growth officer as part of the company’s efforts to grow relationships at its newly established New York office.
Stimmel will oversee strategic marketing, drive adoption of Sabio’s demand-side platform, and will be tasked with increasing awareness of AppSciences’ actionable campaign analytics.
The executive most recently held the position of chief investment officer at UM Worldwide, where he created foundational partnerships for IPG Mediabrands. Previously, he served as EVP director, investment and activation at Publicis, and was director of media investment and partnerships at Unilever.
As the company hones in on its growth strategy for 2022, Stimmel, alongside other key executives, will be responsible for leading the charge in Sabio’s approach to CTV and cross-screen strategies as the company further expands globally.
Hivestack hires Mina Naguib as new CTO
Hivestack, the independent programmatic digital out-of-home (DOOH) ad tech company, has appointed Mina Naguib as chief technology officer.
In his new role, the former Samsung Ads ad tech veteran will establish technology standards, manage and implement a company-wide technology infrastructure, and will play a key role in recognizing and analyzing trends and innovations.
Naguib previously held the role of director of operations engineering at AdGear, which became Samsung Ads in 2016, where he worked since its inception. Prior to that, he worked as an architect at Cossette. Naguib also participated in the IAB Tech Labs in defining industry frameworks for European and U.S. privacy compliance.
Naguib will report directly to Hivestack CEO, Andreas Soupliotis.
