Julie Kerr has left the agency side of the business to fill the newly created position of senior director of digital ad product and revenue management at CBC/Radio-Canada.
Effective Monday, Kerr has been tapped to define and deliver the creative strategy for CBC and Radio-Canada’s digital advertising products, with a focus on meeting “the expectations of agencies and advertisers who invest in” the pubcaster’s platforms.
Hisham Ghostine, CBC’s executive director of digital monetization, sales, marketing and Olympics, adds that Kerr’s experience with emerging technology and the agency sector will help with CBC’s goal of being seen as “an essential business partner” in Canada’s digital media industry.
Most recently VP of strategy and development for Group M out of Montreal, Kerr previously was VP of media strategy at Ogilvy Montreal, and media director for Glassroom in Toronto. Kerr also has extensive experience at media companies, having held senior digital and business development positions with Rogers, TC Media and Bell Media.
She will be based in Montreal but will spend “a significant amount of time” in Toronto.
