Air Transat holds the top spot in Toronto: Media Monitors

Radio buys stayed relatively similar among advertisers in both TO and Montreal.

Air Transat is keeping up its efforts to reach would-be summer travellers, according to Media Monitors data for the week of May 16 to 22.

The rankings in Toronto were relatively similar to last week, with Air Transat in first and top brands like Telus, Desjardins, Spence Diamonds and Subway shuffling spots within the top ten.

However, there were a few notable exceptions.

The Toyota Dealer Association began a strong new radio push, with enough spots to land second on the list of advertisers. Pathways to Education re-started its previous campaign and landed in eighth. The Lexus Dealer Association also made a significant jump, from 98th to tenth.

It was a similar story in Montreal, with Virgin Plus, the Government of Quebec and Air Transat holding onto the top three spots. But Chevrolet and McDonald’s both made jumps up the rankings, with Mazda, Corbeil and the Jewish General Hospital Foundation all debuting in the top ten.

Looking at advertiser categories, banks, auto dealers and QSRs were the most active in Toronto, with automakers, wireless carriers and governments the most active in Montreal.
