FanDuel becomes NFL’s official sportsbook in Canada

The sports betting brand increases its presence with leagues, teams and broadcasters.

Online gaming company FanDuel Group has signed on with the National Football League (NFL) as its Official Sportsbook Partner in Canada.

The multi-year partnership is an expansion of the brand’s existing U.S. partnership across North America and comes as FanDuel continues its growth in the Ontario market after single-sport betting opened up in the spring.

Last year was the first year of FanDuel’s partnership with the NFL in the U.S. While this is the gaming company’s first year of partnerships with the NFL in Canada, FanDuel has been a partner with TSN since this April.

As part of the expanded North American partnership, FanDuel has the rights to use official NFL and member club IP in a variety of ways to engage fans and to create NFL-themed free-to-play games in addition to NFL themed campaigns. This will include opportunities for users to win trips to NFL games — including the Super Bowl. FanDuel advertising also will feature prominently on NFL-operated digital platforms.

Horizon Next is the sportsbook’s media agency in Canada and Mint is the company’s Canadian PR agency.

In April, FanDuel Group signed an exclusive content deal with TSN and the online gambling company’s content will be integrated across TSN’s platforms via in-game broadcasts, digital marketing, mobile apps and co-branding opportunities. The NFL sponsorship will help the sportsbook build upon its partnership with TSN, the exclusive television broadcast partner of the NFL in Canada, through seamless integration of its content.

FanDuel has also inked a multi-year partnership with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment in April, making it the official sportsbook partner of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, Toronto Argonauts, Toronto FC and the Toronto Marlies.
