Horizon Media Canada has appointed Mat Horst as VP of digital activation, a new role created due to the agency’s rapidly scaling business in the Canadian market.
Horst will lead Horizon’s digital activation practice. His tasks will include driving value with digital vendor partnerships, creating and implementing process enhancements within the team, as well as expanding the agency’s programmatic offering through its fully-transparent trading desk, HX.
Horst joins Horizon from Dentsu Toronto where he was group director, digital. He has also held several senior roles with iProspect.
“Mat is the seasoned digital expert we need to lead the digital activation Team,” says Kevin Kivi, EVP and general manager at Horizon Media Canada. “We’re always interested in building stronger capabilities for our clients, as well as investing ahead of the curve, and Mat’s skill sets and depth of experience will be invaluable as we support our clients’ expanding digital investments.”
The first half of 2022 was a busy one for Horizon in Canada, having hired a new media director and head of investment. It also continued to build out its new office in Edmonton.
