Independent media agency Society, etc. has been busy this past month, adding two new executive roles.
Cherie Raymond-Hill joins as SVP media, with Samantha Marion joining as VP of media. The pair are part of a newly formed leadership team at the agency that will be responsible for all sectors of its business, as well as shaping its future growth.
Both join from the media department of DonerNorth. Marion had been with the agency since 2014, when it was known as Union. Raymond-Hill first worked for the agency in 2007, when it was the Canadian outpost of Crispin Porter + Bogusky.
The roles, according to Mike Sharma, president of Society etc., are entirely new, and were made to compliment the agency’s work after eight years of steady growth.
“We’ve never had anyone above a director level in the agency before,” Sharma tells MiC. “We wanted to bring two of Canada’s biggest media executives in to help expand the agency.”
Society etc.’s clients include West Marine and Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment as AOR of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Raptors. This year it also added Love Good Fats, Tetley and Teapigs to its client roster.
