Virgin Plus buys the top, again: Media Monitors

But the CNE, U of T and BMO made strong bids in Toronto.

Another week, another crop of wireless brands buying a big block of radio ads, according to Media Monitors data for the week of Aug. 29 to Sept. 4.

Virgin Plus was once again the most active radio advertiser in both Toronto and Montreal. Though the Canadian National Exhibition came in second behind a radio push for its last weekend in Toronto, it was followed by Fido, the University of Toronto and BMO.

In Montreal, Virgin was followed by Bell, Fido and Lucky Mobile, with McDonald’s rounding out the top five.

Wireless carriers were once the again the most active advertiser category in both cities. In Toronto, banks and government ads were in second and third, respectively. In Montreal, it was business services and medical services.
