Wavemaker appointed AOR for Sun Life Canada

The financial services brand will continue to scale up its focus on digital media and marketing strategies.

Wavemaker has been selected as the new media agency of record for Sun Life after a competitive agency review.

The agency will handle media strategy, buying and planning for the insurance and investment company in Canada. Sun Life previously worked with Cossette Media.

Chris Hewitt, chief marketing officer of Sun Life Canada, says the partnership is an important step in the company’s marketing transformation journey. Sun Life will continue to scale up its focus on digital media and marketing strategies by teaming up with Wavemaker to deliver more marketing impact with clients, prospects and partners.

Ryan Webber, who was named CEO of Wavemaker Canada in April, adds that Sun Life Canada has been very transparent in its goals for ambitious growth and performance as it diversifies its services and offering to Canadians. “Our provocative approach and willingness to push boundaries has resonated with the company,” explains Webber.

In the last 24 months, Wavemaker has seen the addition of a number of new clients including Audible, Beiersdorf, Corby Spirit & Wine and Square.
