Both TSN and Sportsnet have announced their respective slate of Toronto Raptors games for the upcoming NBA season.
Like previous seasons, both networks are splitting the team’s broadcasts with 41 games each. TSN once again has the rights to the team’s season-opening home game, this year being played on Oct. 19 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Sportsnet’s games begin with the Oct. 21 matchup against the Brooklyn Nets the following Friday.
TSN’s broadcasts also feature match-ups with the league’s top stars, including both of the Raptors’ games against defending NBA champions the Golden State Warriors, led by Steph Curry. It also features two games against Lebron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Sportsnet’s schedule, meanwhile, features matchups against two former Raptors stars: Kyle Lowry and the Miami Heat, and Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers.
Sportsnet’s games will be spread across Sportsnet, Sportsnet One and Sportsnet 360, in addition to live streams on SN Now. TSN’s games will air on TSN, TSN.ca and on the TSN app.
Rogers Sports & Media and Bell Media have also split the rights to the radio broadcasts, with half airing on Sportsnet 590 and the other half on TSN 1050.
Tangerine is once again the presenting sponsor for TSN’s Raptors broadcasts. Other returning sponsors include Burger King, Toyota, Intuit, Expedia, Chrysler and Hyundai. New sponsors this season include Google, Mary Brown’s and Subway.
Sportsnet has yet to announce its sponsors for the season.
