Subway Canada has entered into multi-year partnerships with the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Toronto Raptors that will see the fast food restaurant exhibit a presence on and off the court, with in-arena signage at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena and out-of-home promotions, as well as social, digital and broadcast content.
Subway already benefited from the sponsorships with in-arena branding and host in-game promotions during a Oct. 2 exhibition game between the RaptorsĀ and Utah Jazz at Rogers Place in Edmonton, AB. The same deal will be in place when the Raptors face the Boston Celtics at Bell Centre in Montreal, QC on Oct. 14.
Subway and the NBA will also host a “Super Subs” digital content series across NBA Canada social media channels that will celebrate player performances throughout the 2022-23 NBA season.
Finally, Subway will make a donation to its Never Miss Lunch initiative in support of Food Banks Canada for each point scored by a Raptors bench player. Furthermore, to celebrate these points, Subway will award fans gifts at select games and offer $3 off wraps in-store, on the Subway app and online from Sept. 5 through Oct. 16, 2022 across Canada.
“Teaming up with the NBA and with the Raptors opens a meaningful avenue to connect with Canadians,” says Doug Fry, country director at Subway Canada.
