BMW Canada has partnered with CBC to launch a branded content series.
Forces of Nature by BMW is hosted by Dragons’ Den star Michele Romanow. The six-part series of eight-minute episodes, airing on CBC Gem and CBC’s YouTube channel, is an original format conceived and developed by Media Experts in collaboration with Performance Art and executed in partnership with Richmond Day and CBC.
“Sustainability is a fundamental operating principle at the BMW Group and at the core of our business model,” adds Jonathan Thomson, director, BMW brand management. “This new series shares how like-minded entrepreneurs are impacting the world with their creativity, tenacity and innovation, stories that are both compelling and inspiring.”
Each episode is centered around the main theme of sustainability and showcases a trailblazer who has created a unique innovation or a new way of doing business that is environmentally friendly. Media Experts is also delivering over 100,000,000 impressions to amplify and promote the show through TV (CBC), digital (CBC Gem, CBC.ca and Masthead), audio (CBC podcasts), social (Facebook and TikTok) and video (YouTube and Sharethrough).
The first episode, featuring urban farmer and Fresh City Farms founder Ran Goel, aired on Oct. 17, with new episodes released weekly on Mondays.
Other stories in the series include Darrell Brown, a Cree entrepreneur from Winnipeg that is bringing energy to remote Indigenous communities; Flashforest, a company developing tree-planting drone technology; Mike Williamson, a former Navy Commander who is working to grow renewable seaweed on Vancouver Island; Robert Kabera, an Atlanta-based scientist who is designing an AI system that can predict where a disaster might make the electrical grid weak; and Jason Hawkins and Anastasia Kiku, both recent university graduates from Vancouver who are creating a recycling system for the takeout industry.
